Australian Wine History Was Made Here.

This location is home to the most historically significant viticulture holding on The Mornington Peninsula.
Development at this property began in early 1931 and it was soon a thriving passion fruit orchard.

In 1948 the property was purchased by Australian winemaking royalty in the Seppelt family.
They removed the passion fruit orchards and in planting vines created the first commercial vineyard in the now world renowned wine region of The Mornington Peninsula

The orchards were removed, but the passion only increased.

Today the grapes are grown biodynamicaly and on strict principles of sustainability.
The vines are fully managed under licence by the adjoining vineyard - renowned wine producers, Trofeo Estate.

Wine from Cevennes grapes are produced in Terracotta Amphorae, combining the most ancient of wine making principals with the most modern of scientific methods.
These wines are spectacular.

Cevennes vineyards today are planted with -
Block G Pinot Noir - Planted 2000
Block F Pinot Gris - Planted 2004
Old Block (OB) Shiraz - Planted 1998
Old Block (OB) Cabinet - Planted 1998

Function and ritual: the kitchen as architecture.
Increasingly the heart of the home, the kitchen shifts from its role as the focal point in the house, a room inside a building, to become a main player in the development of interiors. A space that ‘comes about’ through the design of functions, the purpose of work, the many shared experiences. The kitchen now as architecture of and by itself.

Exterior and interior are a single design: a part of a whole that unites and relates. Beyond its fundamentals, this house becomes the substance of living, a flexible barycentre of shared, connected, coordinated living spaces.

The aim of our vendor has been to create a property that lasts in time. full stop.

A design both ahead of trends and beyond them. While perfection can exist on paper, it only becomes reality when the building and the location fully meet all the demands made of them: a synthesis of combined values, from the raw materials to the finished product, elements that interact with their function, via the desire of the owners who will bring the property alive, a passionate experience for sharing.

Cevennes is the brilliant vision of highly acclaimed international super luxury resort designer Greg Coles.
The architect relishing the opportunity to create a singular luxury residence which is sensitive to the surrounding landscape. Working within it, he designed a contemporary vineyard chateau capturing panoramic views over the vines to the azure blue waters of nearby Port Phillip Bay, without intruding on the landscape, simultaneously maintaining a close connection to the biodynamic vineyard and its philosophy of sustainability.

The living areas command some of the best vistas on The Mornington Peninsula.
They are panoramic, they are breathtaking, they are unrepeatable - they are unique.

Even for the privileged, Cevennes is a property of a lifetime.
A property to pass down to future generations
